HRS 546 MBBC Nickerhole Bridge Radcliffe

Nickerhole Bridge, Mount Sion, one of the original 18th century brick-built canal bridges. On the left is a former cotton mill which at the time the photo was taken was being used for paper storage by a local firm Spicer-Cowan. Nickerhole ‘refers nick of the hole’, nick being the devil or evil spirit.
