HRS 4394 Liverpool and Manchester Railway loco Lion at Bold Colliery St Helens 1980
The steam locomotive Lion was built in Leeds in 1838 by Messrs Todd, Kitson and Laird for the Liverpool & Manchester Railway. It featured in the comedy film the "Titfield Thunderbolt" and was at the head of the procession of railway locomotives at the Rainhill Cavalcade in 1980.
