Clitheroe is a small town in the north of Lancashire adjacent to Pendle Hill and the Forest of Bowland. It has a Norman Keep (Clitheroe Castle) reputed to be the smallest in England, and during the Second World War helped develop in secret early jet engines. It also has a market and grammar school. It is also the home of the North West Sound Archive.
