HRS 1157 Frodsham Caves, Interior roof supports and graffiti

The Frodsham Caves are remarkable for two reasons. First they preserve a three-dimensional image of a time when Frodsham was in a hot dry climate desert with braided river deposits of sand and secondly, that very sand has been quarried since at least medieval times.
PHOTO: Shows graffiti, and stone pillars possibly left by medieval quarrymen.
