HRS 2909 Radcliffe, opencast area near 7 Pits 1968

The seven pits were a series of medieval shallow ladder-pit coal mine shafts following an outcrop. It is situated between Coventry road and Greenbank Road, Radcliffe. It was also known as 'Curnbry'. The area on the Ainsworth side of the workings has clearly been for clay, and was probably a brickworks.
