HRS 1637 Pendle Hill big end, glaciated landscape June 1995
This viewpoint looks out to the north east towards Yorkshire and the Craven. The smoothing effect of the Ribblesdale ice-sheet is clear. Pendle Hill must at some point have acted as resistant block against the ice movement and have been visible as an 'island amidst the glaciation. Pendle Hill itself however has been glaciated probably early on the Ice Age.
