HRS 1634 Pendle Hill looking South West, meltwater channel 1980s

The view looking south west along the length of Pendle Hill shows several lateral channels. These have been identified by the Geological Survey as being originally meltwater channels dating from a time during the Ice Age when the ice must have been at least the same height (level) as Pendle Hill.
