Goosemire Farm in Mardale was a popular stopping off place for walkers and cyclists before the construction of Manchester Corporation Waterworks Haweswater Reservoir Dam and the subsequent flooding of the valley in 1935. Notice the long fishing rod propped up against the doorway on the left.
