F Danby was a Radcliffe photographer based in Church Street. Little of his work survives but this photograph is clearly his work according to the writing in the bottom right of the photo mount. It is difficult to date the photo or locate the place, the the best guess would be Stand to the south of Radcliffe around 1890.
