HRS 2009 Lever Bank Bleachworks Building and chimney
A 18th century bleachworks with 19th century development. The works still had its 18th century counting house, weighbridge, manager's house, & engine house. Part of the bleachcroft was built over the river to take advantage of the water to wash bleached cloth. There had been a waterwheel, smithy and even a library for the workers.
