Once the site of the Cistercian Abbey of Aberconwy, the site is now occupied by St Mary's and All Saints Church in Conwy. In 1283, Edward I arranged for the Abbey to be removed down to Maenan near Llanrwst. The current church is a mix of building some no doubt part of the original Abbey. For the geologist the soft red sandstone is weathered and shows excellent current bedding.
