HRS 1309 Backbarrow ironworks, furnace lintel 1711 in 1970

The cast iron lintel from the 1711 furnace survived until about 20 years ago when it disappeared.

The inscription refers to: John Machell, William Rawlinson, and Stephen Crossfield the original partners.
