HRS 7112 Radcliffe, Caw Daw Brook polluted and Irwell 1970s
Pollution from Radcliffe's industry was a major concern for the River Authority. As late as the 1970s the River Irwell was badly polluted. Caw Daw, a small stream or brook joined the Irwell near the bottom of Outwood Road, the pollution that clouds the water is self-evident.
