Hagside Level Crossing Bank Top Radcliffe

Hagside Level Crossing and signal box on the busy commuter line between Bury and Radcliffe, in 1978, just before the ancient 19th century former Lancashire and Yorkshire Box was replaced by new equipment directly opposite. The old box still used original levers and frames made at the L & Y's Horwich works. The line would eventually be used by the Metrolink trams.
