Harlech Castle is important in Welsh history. Built by Edward I 1282-1289 it was intended to 'control the Welsh'. However in 1404 it fell to Owain Gyndwr. This superb Castle is now part of a World Heritage Site. The photo shows the seaward side of the Castle, the sea once having lapped at the foot of the Castle walls.
