HRS 3509 Bury, Hudcar Mill fireproof vaulting exposed April 1977

The floor exposed is covered in debris mainly concrete, sand or ash and similar material that offered some fire protection in the mill. The structures was barrel-shaped offering extra strength.
The flooring was usually flagstone or tiles.
